Tizta Berhanu was born in 1991 in Addis Ababa and grew up in a middle income family. She developed a passion for painting and drawing at an early age. She studied at Addis Ababa University, Alle School of Fine Arts and Design and graduated with BFA in painting. Her work has been showcased widely, including the National Museum, the Alle School of Fine Arts and Design, the National Gallery, Panache Art Gallery, Laphto Art Gallery, the Italian Culture Institute, as well as the Conso Cultural Institute.
“The theme that is constant on all my paintings is love, love is my subject because it is familiar and awe inspiring to me. In my paintings love is explored in different moods of passion, through agony and bliss… the isolation and connectedness of two different beings through the magic of love”.
